We will have an amazing feature from local fave, Nikki Burian!
More about Nikki:
Nikki Burian is a queer, nonbinary slam poet originally from the great state of Iowa. They are a winner of the 2011 Iowa City Poetry in Public contest and are a representative of the 2018 Portland National Poetry Slam team. Their work has been featured on SlamFind and Woke Monozine. They are the author of two chapbooks: I Hope My Cat Never Has Self-Esteem Issues (2016) and Kindergarten Memory Spiral (2018). They love goat cheese (probably more than you), their cat Binx, motorcycle rides, and people who aren’t jerks. You can find more of their work at nikkiburian.com
We will be at our beautiful venue on Hawthorne, the Ranger Station! The Ranger Station is a rustic, comfy, vegetarian friendly bar and venue on Hawthorne. Monday through Saturday you can often find live music and comedy shows on their stage, and Sundays you will find poems! For more info about location and the menu check out their website
Accessibility Notes: The Ranger Station, including the room we will be in is wheel chair accessible however the stage is now and happily we will make accommodations to make you most comfortable.
The downside to our new venue is that we are now a 21+ show. We are sorry to make this change. But we encourage those of you who are younger to follow our all-ages sibling slam, Slamlandia.
Thank you for your support! We can’t wait to see you and hear your poems!
