Pick your favorite Beach! Volunteers will meet at Tom McCall Bowl and be assigned either Poet's Beach
, Audrey McCall Beach
or Tom McCall Beach. Work will take place between 7:30am-12:30pm (please pre-register at free ticket link). If you volunteer for a minimum of three hours you will receive FREE admission to The Big Float 8
The purpose of the clean up is to make the two beaches «beachier» before The Big Float 8
so they will be looking great. Our work will also give these beaches a nice sprucing up for the summer months ahead for all the public to enjoy! Come join us!

Work will include picking up riprap rocks from the shore and placing them back on the bank (“unrocking the beach"), picking up trash, and weeding. Removing the rock from shallow water will also help improve habitat for juvenile salmon. There will be rocks of every shape and size for all ages.
Rallying around the cry, Viva la Riverlution! people of all ages will gather along the Willamette River on Saturday, July 14th for the Portland Beach Bash and Cleanup. This fourth annual event, is presented by the Human Access Project
(HAP) and Solve
The Portland Beach Bash and Cleanup is the next step in a grass-roots movement to bring attention and a new perspective towards the Willamette River in Downtown Portland.
The work/party was conceived by the Human Access Project. We also put on The Big Float, an annual river float and beach party. This year 4,000-6,000 river revelers are expected for TBF 8, our 8th annual event on Saturday, July 14th. Plans call for live music on a barge, food carts, beer garden, kids' activities and awards for “Most Fabulous” costume and “Most Outlandish” watercraft.
