Does your child get worked up over things and struggle to calm back down? Have you noticed difficulties focusing and maintaining attention? Come to these classes to learn proven self-regulation strategies for improving self-regulation to use and teach to your child. We will focus on mindfulness techniques, self-care, and non-judgment. Classes will include education on escalating and de-escalating behaviors, basics of mindfulness practices, and strategies you can use.
About the instructor: Meghan McCarthy is a second-year doctoral student in the Pacific University School of Graduate Psychology Program in the Child and Adolescent track. She is a student clinician working with children and adolescents at the Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinic. Meghan earned a master’s degree in school psychology from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado.
