Class description & Appropriate attire:

5pm Ballet (55min) — Open level ballet class starts at the barre, then moves to center to explore fundamental technique through combinations. Many combinations are used repeatedly to give students a sense of improvement and to solidify understanding of ballet technique. Leo/tights/leggings are appreciated but not necessary; comfortable clothing, but visibility of joint/muscle alignment can lead to more focused corrections in class; footwear should be ballet slippers/shoes; hair should be pulled back and away from face.

6pm Lyrical (45min) — Defined as a hybrid genre of jazz and ballet, this class explores movement through spirals, circles, and lines. May involve improvisation, partnering, and/or Contemporary exercises/combination. Open to all levels. Knee pads optional for center choreography which most likely involves floor work. Leo/tights/leggings are appreciated but not necessary; comfortable clothing, but visibility of joint/muscle alignment can lead to more focused corrections in class; footwear should be ballet slippers/shoes for barre portion of class, then for choreography, jazz shoes, «paws», lyrical sandals, etc. are acceptable; hair should be pulled back and away from face.

6:45pm Hip Hop / Street (45min) — This class explores the fundamentals of Hip Hop styles, which then is translated into experimental choreography involving Street styles and improvisation/Freestyle. May involve floor work. Comfortable clothing; no street shoes allowed. Split-sole and/or street-jazz shoes are not recommended. Clean, non-street pair of sneakers, basketball shoes, cross-trainers, etc are recommended. Non-marking soles. Knee pads optional.
