Community Support night for Harkins House. Harkins House is a short-term shelter care facility for at risk youth between the ages of 12 to 17. The program provides a safe environment for local youth whose homes are no longer a resource. Since opening in 1977, Harkins House has served several thousand youth in our community. Individualized care is provided to each youth including a comprehensive evaluation, counseling and mental health services, an educational program and positive recreational activities. Harkins House is a safe, structured program dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to the youth and families it serves.
Donations to the Friends of Harkins House help fund scholarships for youth seeking to enroll in college, vocational programs, sports, music programs and other positive extracurricular activities.
