Literary Arts and Portland’5 Centers for the Arts are partnering to present Poets on Broadway – a free poetry series hosted by Portland'5. All readings are free and open to the public and take place on Mondays beginning at 7:30pm in the Antoinette Hatfield Hall Rotunda. Each evening’s readings will feature national and local poets as well as local high school students.
Jane Wong is the author of Overpour (Action Books, 2016). Her poems have appeared in places such as Best American Poetry 2015, Best New Poets 2012, Pleiades, Hayden’s Ferry Review, The Volta, Tupelo Quarterly, and others. She is a Kundiman fellow and has received fellowships and scholarships from the U.S. Fulbright Program, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Squaw Valley, and the Fine Arts Work Center. She is a professor at Pacific Lutheran University.
Shayla Lawson is a 2017 Oregon Literary Fellowship recipient and the author of three poetry collections: A Speed Education in Human Being (Sawyer House Press, 2013), PANTONE (Miel, 2016), and the forthcoming I Think I’m Ready to See Frank Ocean (Saturnalia Books, 2018). Her work has appeared in Guernica, Colorado Review, The Journal, Indiana Review, and MiPOesias. She is the former Nonfiction Editor of Indiana Review.
