TESLA: LIGHT, SOUND, COLOR, is a mixed‐media performance exploring the life and work of the elusive physicist and inventor, Nikola Tesla. The show brings lightning to the stage with live physics demonstrations, digital animation, an original string and electronic musical score and contemporary choreography. The show will include guest performances by University of Oregon Physics Department, members of the Delgani String Quartet and Eugene Ballet Company.
Hailed as a genius of the industrial age, Serbian immigrant Nikola Tesla continues to captivate the public with his electrical inventions that harness alternating current, contributions to radio transmission, the Tesla coil, among 280+ patents. The production will bring Tesla’s enigmatic story to the stage. Come live the science and experience the art. The project is made possible by a Creative Heights Award from the Oregon Community Foundation with additional facilities support by the University of Oregon Departments of Dance, Physics, and the Art & Technology program.
