It's a special Holiday Edition of Public Domain Xinema, as we screen the immortal romantic-comedy-chase-thriller, Charade (1963)! Directed by the legendary Stanley Donen (Singin' in the Rain, Royal Wedding, Arabesque) and toting one of the best casts ever assembled in a film: Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Walter Matthau, James Coburn, George Kennedy and Jacques Marin, this is one of the most cherished classics in our library. Hepburn plays the recently widowed heroine who must negotiate a gauntlet of dangers in the wake of her husband's death and the revelation that he wasn't who he said he was. Don't worry, Cary Grant is there to help her… or is he? Don't miss this wonderful PDX screening of Charade, with newsreels, cartoons, TV commercials and other ephemera from 1963, to really take you back. Plus a fun introduction full of trivia and fascinating tidbits from PDX Curator, Ygal Kaufman. All this and it's only for a «suggested» donation of $5-$8. And we really mean suggested. We suggest it, politeness and community togetherness suggests it, but it's really not required. We'd rather see you than your money, so come on down with a nickel or sawbuck, just join us. This is a very special late addition, Holiday Edition, Thanksgiving weekend, bring-your-parents-and-your-aunt-Kathleen-for-a-night-at-the-picture-show installment of Public Domain Xinema. Saturday, November 25th, 8 PM, only at the Clinton Street Theater. See you there!
