Glitching “By Hand”: How to Break Media is a workshop taught by Fall 2017 New Media Fellow Alan Page, intended for people who are both new to glitch art and curious about how to start. The class will teach about the unpredictable, experimental, and sometimes tedious nature of glitch art and why iterations are important. From there, the class will experiment with various softwares and apps without using the defaults, and find ways to break and intentionally/unconventionally recreate and manipulate media.

This workshop is made possible by a project grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council.
