The Fall Festival of Shakespeare is a non-competitive region-wide collaboration between Portland Playhouse and area schools. This year we are proud to work with H.B Lee Middle School, Boise Eliot School, Franklin High School, Fort Vancouver, Da Vinci Arts, Metropolitan Learning Center and Arts & Communicaty Magnet Academy.
For ten weeks, students from participating schools learn all aspects of putting on a work by Shakespeare. The program culminates in a two day festival at the Winningstad Theatre where each school performs a 70 min full length play. This year, we also welcome past participants St. Andrews and De La Salle who will perform at the Festival.
The students are not only performers in the festival, but a large and vocal component of the audience. It’s an unforgettable experience for the students involved, and an engaging cultural phenomenon for everyone to witness.
