Beloved Men: Quarterly Sauna
Throughout our lives we have been bombarded with messages about what masculinity and male sexuality is and should be. These messages make it very difficult to know our true selves, our true nature, and our true power. These messages also reinforce the myth of separation, and prevent authentic connection with others. We turn to addictive patterns (work, unhealthy relationships, substances, and money) for relief, but our spirits are dimmed.
How do we break free from this cycle? What does healthy masculinity look like?
Using embodied approaches of new masculine empowerment, Our Beloved Men community supports us in developing a practice of fierce allyship with one another, women, and other marginalized groups. This work simultaneously enlivens and enriches our own lives, moving us into greater freedom, choice and personal power.
In order to connect and deepen our exploration of masculine conditioning and its impact, we begin our evening with exercises of sacred intimacy and group discussion. We will then proceed to our lovely earthen sauna for continued connection, song and prayer, as well as time to be together casually around the fire.

My experience stems from a background of Conflict Resolution, Feminist Studies, Anti-Oppression Activism, and the formation of a Men’s group focused on connection, healing, and accountability. I have followed a path to integrate this learning through working with people in the developmentally disabled communities, as an active member in an urban land-based communal living project, and supporting the start-up and process of Men’s groups in the Portland area
