Heads up you Awesome-Holes! Listen close you Sunny Biscuits and Cherry Blossom Cosmonauts! Poetry dreamboat Derrick Brown is coming to town to do a show with dreamboat poet Anis Mojgani! The two of them are gonna tear shit up together in all the best of ways––by throwing poems at people courtesy of the good folks at the wonderful Revolution Hall.

We'll be in the Suunset Room––on the second floor, a couple doors down from Assembly lounge Lounge. Feel free to grab a drink from there or some food from Martha's, and then come join us for a night of feeling uncomfortably powerful and tinily triumphant.
Doors are at 7:30pm, show at 8, suggested donation of 5 bones.

Derrick C. Brown (Derrick Brown Party Page) is a comedian, poet and storyteller. He is the winner of the 2013 Texas Book of The Year award for Poetry. He is a former Paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne and is the president of what Forbes and Filter Magazine call “…one of the best independent poetry presses in the country”, Write Bloody Publishing, which has launched over 112 books of poetry. He is the author of five books of poetry, three children’s books, and the musical 300 Bones. The New York Times calls his work, “…a rekindling of faith in the weird, hilarious, shocking, beautiful power of words.” He is from Los Angeles, California.

Anis Mojgani is a two time National Poetry Slam Champion, winner of the International World Cup Poetry Slam, and as poet Patricia Smith has said: “a gale force talent, a twirling dervish of lyric and the body’s music.” The author of four books, Anis has been awarded residencies from the Vermont Studio Center, AIR Serenbe, and the Oregon Literary Arts Writers-In-The-Schools program. His work has appeared on HBO, NPR, in such journals as RATTLE, Thrush, Forklift Ohio, and Bat City Review, and he has performed for audiences as varied as the Getty Museum and the United Nations. Originally from New Orleans, Anis currently lives here in Portland.
