Lost Ox is part rapidfire rambling lyrics, part whiskey blues soul grass, two parts neo-funk groove; all with an extra helping of electro-psychedelic heat. The Portland-based prog-blues-folk quartet bring their own brand of inventive playfulness to performances; weaving dark, murderous yarns in the same stride as delightfully groovy jive numbers, saturated richly with improvisation and interplay. Formed in October of 2016 and featuring some longtime Portland music scene staples, the band has quickly generated a buzz around town with their adventurous and unabashed style. Featuring Reed Bunnell on bass, Dylan DiSalvio on electric guitar, Mark Mullen on keyboards, and Mike Stavish on drumkit.
From the inner nether-reaches of Portland's scene comes: Russell Street Jam. A collection of musicians from local bands that include Garcia Birthday Band, Lewi Longmire and the Left Coast Roasters, The Student Loan and Rootjack. These local aces bring the heat, exploring rock, funk, and jam standards in new and creative ways. Featuring Justin John on guitar, Ed Connell on keyboards, Julio Appling on bass and Mike Stavish on drumkit.
