As a lot of you know SubRosa Dance Collective, Design By Goats, Duke Stebbins, & Dylan Wilbur have been working hard for the past 2 years on creating, filming, editing, composing, and submitting this dance film!

Living the Room // Dance for Film has screened at 7 festivals around the world and it's finally coming to Portland!!! And we are really excited to share it with everyone!

More about the night:
Movement and Flow: Portland Dance Films features six Portland-made films featuring dance and movement. Conrad Kazcor’s We’re From Here (2015, 18 mins.) documents three distinctly different dancers and how they came to love and perform with their own particular style. Fuchsia Lin’s Crystals of Transformation (2016, 5 mins.) combines unique costumes and wave-side locations to suggest how the energetic environment of water affects those near it… Dylan Wilbur Media’s Living the Room: Dance For Film (2016, 32 mins.) is a collaborative work with dancers, musicians, and a 103-year-old house, combining to tell various stories of life lived indoors. Gabriel Shalom’s Warehouse Samba (2015, 3 mins.) uses editing and audio created by dancers interacting with an empty warehouse and music made from the sounds of their own movements. Jackie Davis’s Slip Cast (2016, 10 mins.) investigates patterns found in everyday life using confined spaces, dance, and a roaming camera that intertwines with the movements; and Amy Yang Chiao’s Bella Ciao (2017, 7 mins.) utilizes a song born from the anti-fascist movement, but whose current day remixed versions set feet dancing all over the world. Join us for a reception with the filmmakers before the screening.
