Kasey Edwards is a recovering addict working with Project Nurture to provide peer support and doula support to women experiencing substance abuse disorders in the Portland metro area. She will
address the traumatic roles that care providers may play in their interactions with pregnant and postpartum clients living with addiction, as well as how we can provide better care by simply
being informed. She will discuss typical hospital care protocols as well as pain management options for mothers with a history of substance use disorders.
