Over the last few years, Basic Rights Oregon's transgender justice program has won amazing gains for transgender Oregonians, including transgender health care through the Oregon Health Plan, an updated insurance bulletin to prevent discrimination in the health insurance market, and the recent passage of HB 2673A, a bill to streamline the process for transgender Oregonians to update their name and gender on their Oregon birth certificates.
Basic Rights Oregon board members Brook Shelley and Rowan Everard invite transgender community members to a special event to hear more about our transgender justice and racial justice programs and how community members can support them. Also hosting are Diane Hames, Rhodes Perry, and Linda Brown.
Food and beer will be provided. Come meet other community members, hear where our transgender and racial justice programs are headed, and learn how you can support our continuing work! All gifts are appreciated, no matter how large or small.
