Now that the snows have melted, join us for our June Bark About to the proposed Crystal Clear Timber Sale, a 13,271 acre project in the White River watershed, southeast of Mt. Hood. Join hike leaders Cody Feuerborn and Courney Rae to explore spectacular native forests which are entirely in Critical Habitat for northern spotted owls, and play a significant role of mitigating the projected effects of climate change. Bark is getting boots on the ground monitoring this massive project, which is currently being fast-tracked by the agency. Come learn what you can do to protect this beautiful area!
Carpools leave from the Hollywood Trader Joe’s, 4121 NE Halsey, (across the street from the Hollywood Transit Center, near the I-84 exit 2) in Portland at 9am sharp. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver. If you would like to arrange a meet-up closer to the forest, please let us know by giving us a call at our number below.
Bring a lunch, water, and anything else you'll need to stay comfortable in the forest. To protect off-trail resources, we ask you to leave your dog at home.
Call Bark at 503-331-0374 for more details and information.
